Can someone please help me answer this math question? Please? I'll fan and give a medal!! Question - (x-1)(x+5) – (x-1)(x-3) x-1
I'm working on Polynomial Division in this lesson
I assume this is a fraction - with (x-1) on the denominator Note - you can 'factor out' (x-1) from the terms on the numerator - and then the equation becomes simple
how would i do that?
the equation is of the form: a(b) - a(c)/a You can see that the 'a' factor is in both terms If you have reache 'polynomial division' then you should be able to fact or this out easily
\[\frac{ a(b) - a(c) }{ a }\]
I'm still not sure how to do this...
frget teh fraction for now what is a simpler way of writing ab - ac ?
I'm not sure
OK - in that case you do not have the background knowledge to solve this question. You need to go back to your study if factors and simplification of expressions, and come back to this question when you have reached that level. There is always a necessary required competence to answer any question - and oyu need ot build on previous knowledge with each new step. I am sure that you have previously studied the techniques needed to solve this -so if oyu revise them you will find that this is a simpl factorisation problem
yes sir thank you, have a nice day
