OpenStudy (ishipdestiel):

Could anyone help me write my thesis statement?

OpenStudy (aveline):

What are you writing about?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah I can help.

OpenStudy (ishipdestiel):

How have these two authors expressed their relationships with nature? After reading and analyzing “Calypso Borealis,” an essay by John Muir, and William Wordsworth’s poem, “I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud,” write an essay in which you describe how each author views nature and answer the question. Support your discussion with evidence from the text. Write your Basic Thesis Statement in the space below. Go through the Thesis Statement Essentials Checklist. It is OK if you are not able to check off some of these characteristics. Is your thesis statement one sentence? Does it answer the question? Does it use specific words? Does it take a stand? Could someone have a different interpretation? Does it introduce a comparison or contrast? Does it answer “Why does this matter?” or “So what?” Based on the checklist above, revise your thesis statement so that it has all of the above qualities and include it here.

OpenStudy (aveline):

How does each author view nature? In which ways are the similar or different?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I never read those essays. Sowwy.

OpenStudy (ishipdestiel):

ok so Muir, views nature by explaining his time seeing a calypso borealis, and Wordsworth by telling the story of when he was going through a field of daffodials with his sister.

OpenStudy (ishipdestiel):

I understand, but how would I "Support your discussion with evidence from the text" but it still being one sentence.

OpenStudy (ishipdestiel):

@Aveline

OpenStudy (aveline):

I think that is referring to your essay as a whole, not the thesis statement in particular. Usually, the thesis is a broad statement and does not incorporate specific evidence. Specific evidence is what your body paragraphs will be for.

OpenStudy (ishipdestiel):

Would you be okay with me using what you put but changing it a bit
