Based on this excerpt from the poem "The Solitary Reaper" by William Wordsworth, what can be determined about the speaker and the singing solitary reaper?
No Nightingale did ever chaunt1 More welcome notes to weary bands Of travellers in some shady haunt, Among Arabian sands: A voice so thrilling ne'er was heard In spring-time from the Cuckoo-bird, Breaking the silence of the seas Among the farthest Hebrides2. Will no one tell me what she sings?-- Perhaps the plaintive numbers flow For old, unhappy, far-off things, And battles long ago: Or is it some more humble lay, Familiar matter of to-day? Some natural sorrow, loss, or pain, That has been, and may be again? 1 sing 2 a large archipelago off the west coast of Scotland, composed of the oldest rocks in the British Isles A.) They are lovers who are meeting in secret. B.) They are both lost and confused. C.) They do not speak the same language. D.) They are enemies who hate each other.
@umerlodhi
Hey I can help you
id love it if you could! @mimi1599
Ok so tell me what do you know right now.
From reading the poem
i think it's b but i'm not sure
Well actually it's not B
idk then...
and how do you know that?
Becuase I had to study this poem for weeks and it sucked
But for a fact we can cross out B and D leaving us with A and C
And if you look more closely you can see that it does not tell you anything about lovers
my second guess is c then lol
So we are left with the one and one C which tells he does not know what language she is speaking
And yup that's the right one becuase the reader learns that the speaker cannot understand the words being sung. He can only guess at what she might be singing about:
I hope I help you out XD
lol i hope so too. idk if it was right until the end of my test. i have three more questions if youre down
Ok let's see if I know it
Match the characteristics of nature as expressed by William Wordsworth to the lines quoted from his poems.
"A motion and a spirit, that impels / All thinking things, all objects of all thought," "My heart leaps up when I behold / A rainbow in the sky:" "Nature never did betray / The heart that loved her; 'tis her privilege,"
those were the titles then here are the pairs...
Nature is a source of joy. arrowBoth Nature is a source of comfort in hard times. arrowBoth Nature possesses the attributes of a deity.
Are u taking the flvs course

And the last one well u should know that cuz it the only one left
What's the next question
According to this excerpt from "I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud" by William Wordsworth, what does the speaker do when he is in a reflective mood?
The waves beside them danced, but they Out-did the sparkling waves in glee: A poet could not but be gay, In such a jocund company: I gazed—and gazed—but little thought What wealth the show to me had brought: For oft, when on my couch I lie In vacant or in pensive mood, They flash upon that inward eye Which is the bliss of solitude; And then my heart with pleasure fills, And dances with the daffodils. A.) He gets melancholy about his life situation. B.) He thinks of the scene described in the poem. C.) He reads to escape from the din of city life. D.) He writes as a release from his worries and fears.
