In your words try to answer the question, "If a person can see nothing, hear nothing, have nothing and feel nothing, why isn't nothing something?

OpenStudy (misssmartiez):

Because, NOTHING isn't SOMETHING to see.

OpenStudy (misssmartiez):

Logic: NOTHING isn't an object that could compute with existing, i.e listening speaking, hearing, holding, seeing, therefore it is, NOTHING. If something is nothing, how is it to be SOMETHING.

OpenStudy (ssddss02):

nothing is classified as a thing just not something nothing is a thing

OpenStudy (misssmartiez):

|dw:1461115706968:dw| For example, left side is NOTHING, therefore no what?

OpenStudy (misssmartiez):

SOMETHING! Get it xD?

OpenStudy (obviouslynerdy):

Nothing is Not something because, if I were to give you 3 apples today, but yesterday I gave you nothing. Nothing Is Not Anything

OpenStudy (dn-bb):

Thanks guys

OpenStudy (perl):

If you use quantifier logic it is more clear. Call the person \( b\) . A person can see nothing is equivalent to for all x , \( b\) cannot see x. or equivalently there does not exist x such that \( b\) can see x. 'Nothing' is not a predicate or a statement. You can remove the word 'nothing' from your logic vocabulary as it can lead to confusion.
