what is the slope of \[y=-\frac{1}{x}x-1\]? you need that first

OpenStudy (mathmale):

"the equation of line AB is y=-1/3-1. Write an equation of a line perpendicular to line AB in slope-intercept form that contains point (4,-5)" Please double check the original problem. y=-1/3-1 is not the equation of a sloping line because there's no 'x' value in it. Do you mean "the equation of line AB is y=-(1/3)x-1.? Those parentheses are just about essential for max clarity.

OpenStudy (britchgo):

yes im sorry ot was y=-(1/3)x-1
