OpenStudy (pphalke):

find the y-intercept and the x-intercept for the equation 5x+3y=45 write an ordered pair

OpenStudy (hyperpiper):

okay so set up y=mx+b

OpenStudy (hyperpiper):

do you know what it is?

OpenStudy (pphalke):

how do i do that for the equation?

OpenStudy (hyperpiper):

move you 5x to the other side of the equation by subtracting it... like this. now you will have 3y=-5x+45

OpenStudy (hyperpiper):

do you see what I did?

OpenStudy (pphalke):

yes i saw now what do i do to get the y and x intercept

OpenStudy (hyperpiper):

you will now want your y by itself. so how do you do that you think?

OpenStudy (pphalke):

hmm i dont know

OpenStudy (shastri007):

Hey I worked it out for you

OpenStudy (hyperpiper):

3y=-5x+45 divide everything by 3 so that the y ends up by itself y=-5/3x+15 see?

OpenStudy (hyperpiper):

Now we have the equation to find the intercepts...okay, do I still have you?

OpenStudy (shastri007):

Hey man, let us know where u at, i can explain a step over if u didn't understand. I wrote it like that in step forms so if you gotta problem somewhere just tell and i would explain carefully ~Shastri

OpenStudy (pphalke):

haha i am not a man

OpenStudy (hyperpiper):

I like how you did it in steps^^

OpenStudy (shastri007):

Thanks hyper :)

OpenStudy (shastri007):

My apologies miss
