OpenStudy (pphalke):

this is opposite how do i do this

OpenStudy (pphalke):

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

First, ignore the inequality sign Focus on the equation \(\large y = x - 5\) What would that line look like? A line with y-intercept of -5 and a slope of 1 right?

OpenStudy (pphalke):

yes

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Okay so lets graph that |dw:1461519093752:dw| Look good? Now we focus on the inequality sign

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

ALL the inequality sign does, is tell us where to shade. i.e What portion of the graph holds solutions to this inequality So here we have \(\large y \ge x - 5\) This tells us to shade the portion of the graph where the values would make this inequality true I.e....where can we shade *ABOVE or BELOW the line* where any point I choose can be a solution to this inequality

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Let me know if that is...understandable...and then we can work through it :)
