OpenStudy (navaehhall):

for u It was a direct result of the First Indochina War (1946–1954) between France, which claimed Vietnam as a colony, and the communist forces then known as Viet Minh. In 1973 a "third" Vietnam war began—a continuation, actually—between North and South Vietnam but without significant U.S. involvement.

OpenStudy (gnech):

There was a growing distrust of government by the American people because during the war there was a "credibility gap." There was an apparent difference between what was said about Vietnam War by government and what people saw on TV about it. SO the government stretched the truth and people knew the President was lying. Also, after Vietnam War there was The Watergate Scandal and that also caused mistrust towards government.

So I think that it is C, but you can get more opinions @Ms-Brains
