OpenStudy (spicytaco1):

What is the approximate volume of a cylinder with a diameter of 10 meters and a height of 5 meters? Use 3.14 for pi.

OpenStudy (nfcfox):

The volume of a cyclinder is \[Volume=pir^2h\]

OpenStudy (eazye_the_best):

392.86

OpenStudy (anonymous):

392.7

OpenStudy (nfcfox):

@Spicytaco1 So plug in the known values (the diameter is twice the radius)

OpenStudy (eazye_the_best):

Well not exactly......... wait nvm I just did it and I got 392.86

If you look up in google volume of a cylinder and plug in the numbers you will find the answer! I hope I helped :)

OpenStudy (nfcfox):

@Spicytaco1 If you can remember the area of a circle then you can remember the volume of a cyclinder. Area of a circle is a flat 2-dimensional plane so it's only 1 slab... Think of it as 1 pancake (1 really thing pancake). A cyclinder is many of those pancakes stacked together (h, height, pancakes).
