Can someone tell me a better explaining of present progressive for Spanish Thankyou

OpenStudy (ltrout):

Sure! I'll break it down for you. Present means something is happening in the present, not yesterday, not tomorrow, right now. Progressive is a way of telling you how long it is happening (or happened or will happen as it can be used with past or future in some languages). So present progressive is saying I am doing this right now. As in English when you say I run, that's present. We know you ran, but we don't know if you are still doing it or not. However, when you say I am running (present progressive), you tell us that you are doing it right now and that you are still doing it. Does this explain it?
