OpenStudy (legomyego180):

It is either C or D. Slope is negative so you have an inverse relationship. Not sure what a correlation coefecient is

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

how come nobody knows about that

OpenStudy (legomyego180):

What level math is this? Highschool stats? Do you know summations? (The E looking symbol)

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

algebra 1 honors

OpenStudy (legomyego180):

Are you allowed to use calculators on the test?

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

yes

OpenStudy (legomyego180):

The answer is C. If the slope is negative the correlation coefecient is negative. If the slope is positive the coeficient is positive. If the Slope = 0 then your correlation coeficcient is also 0.

Directrix (directrix):

Go here and enter the data if you want to crank out the correlation coefficient. http://www.alcula.com/calculators/statistics/correlation-coefficient/

Directrix (directrix):

If you look at the data with the x values in order from small to large, you can see that as x gets larger, the corresponding y values get smaller and smaller. That indicates that the line has a negative slope which means that the correlation coefficient have to be negative. Option C is the only option with a negative correlation coefficient. @ILovePuppiesLol

Two study charts for you.

thank you. :) @directrix
