OpenStudy (wormynut):

Can someone give me some cool science experiments for my high school science exhibition? It'd be greatly appreciated/

OpenStudy (fifib):

Heart dissections and comparisons @wormynut

OpenStudy (darv):

@wormyut does it have to be a biology experiment or are other sciences excepted as well?

OpenStudy (foxesrcool):

Why helium makes voices higher.

OpenStudy (wormynut):

@Darv Anything with science will do.

OpenStudy (darv):

@wormynut how bout experiments involving chemicals? There are some really cool chemistry experiments which will amaze many. Such as the potassium nitrate experiment where it burns with a cool purple color. And it can be added with powdered sugar to make mini rockets. Tell me what type of experiments you're interested in and I'll try to help you out.

OpenStudy (wormynut):

@Darv I can't do experiment related to chemical reaction because I have no source from where I could get the chemicals...I don't buy oline either. I'm actually interested in makind a diy microscope and anything related to biology and physics.

OpenStudy (minecraftgeek5):

Well I once saw at a science convention that my sister went to and a dude made a homemade hovercraft I though that was pretty cool XD

OpenStudy (minecraftgeek5):

and he actually made it related to science by explaining the scientific way that it works and how science is used to make things like it

OpenStudy (darv):

@wormynut if you want to do experiments related to physics, then the most practical thing you can do is to explain the laws or theories that govern the things around us through simple small scale experiments. Or you could do what @fifib said if you want something related to biology. But if your presentations are being judged, then I suggest you do not do dissections; I gets pretty messy and some may find it gnarly. Anyway good luck with your experiment. You can ask me if you need some guidance for the experiments.

OpenStudy (maralb):

Why chocolate makes people happy.

OpenStudy (wormynut):

@Darv it'll be judged...and I can't do dissections because well...Idk what to do with! Can you give me ideas...I don't have frogs and stuff in my place tho. It doesn't matter about being messy in my competition.

COOL SCIENCE EXPERIMENT THAT IS UTILIZED IN WIDE ARRAY OF MEDICAL SCIENCE. THE USE OF GFP FUSION UNDER PCR/CLONING. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2875081/#R41 http://www.aun.edu.eg/molecular_biology/Proceeding_Dec2011/Current%20Protocols%20in%20Mol.%20Biol..pdf

SIMPLER EXPERIMENTS REQUIRE THE IDENTIFICATION OF GRAM POSITIVE OR GRAM NEGATIVE STAINING. THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF THESE RECOMMENDATIONS IS THEIR UTILITY.

OpenStudy (darv):

@wormynut dissections commonly include frogs and mice. Dissection on a frog is pretty easy and you can talk about its amphibious skin and link it to its lungs. And if you're gonna do dissection on a mouse, you could easily link it to the human body system because they are similar. Frogs and mice can easily be bought at some pet shops. And don't use small frogs, try to get a bull frog. If you want to get one easily, you could try a Chinese diner. They might sell one to you. I've done that before.

how long teens can spend without their cell phone lmao
