How do you all study? Any tips or tricks?

OpenStudy (aaliyahfairgood):

Read. Before you go to sleep, but before you get tired. So the first thing on your mind is the last thing your mind was focused on before the whatever those hormones are called tha make you tired is released in your brain

OpenStudy (aaliyahfairgood):

Don't try to study stuff you already know, Focus on things that tend to be challenging

If you can't memorize something for the life of you then (no I'm not kidding xP) Speak it in a silly voice, sing it, or associate a movement with it. It's dumb but, depending on your learning style, it can be really helpful. Use this as a last resort though. You don't want too many sounds or movements to remember. ☺

I feel like I am the worst person when it comes to studying. Although studying is hard for me, what helps me remember things is when I discuss it with someone else. For example, I had a psychology class last semester, and my cousin took psychology a while ago, so I would tell him what I had learned and he would compare it to what he has learned when he took psychology before. My dad is really into History, so whatever I would learn in my history or humanities class, I would share with him. When I don't have anyone to share my information with, I take notes. That usually helps me because i am one who takes paragraphs of notes, and I remember the things I write because I am taking it from the textbook. When it comes to math, all I need to do is focus, take math class in the morning, and study and practice. That's basically all I can do for math. XD

imqwerty (imqwerty):

Attend all classes Ask doubts Do hw Do some extra cool books if u r aiming for olympiads And most importantly tate tests to find out where u stand

imqwerty (imqwerty):

Make notes

I connect what I am trying to learn to something I already know or which is familiar to me. This seems to work for me most times. A simple example of this is the definition of the Cerebellum which is the part of the brain that controls motor activities like riding a bike. My bike had a bell.Cerebellum has the word "bell" in it. I see bell in the word, and I think of my bike, and then think of what controls riding it. It may seem like a bit much, but the connection is actually quick once I see the word. Again this is what works for me but others use it also.
