HELP PLEASE

OpenStudy (kalijah13):

A triangle in the coordinate plane has coordinates of (2,3), (-4,-5), and (-2, 4). It is reflected about the y-axis. What are its new coordinates? A) (-2,3), (4,-5), (2,4) B) (-2,-3), (4,5), (2,-4) C) (2,-3), (-4,5), (-2,-4) D) (-2,-3), (-4,-5), (-2,-4)

OpenStudy (i_need_help_please):

just graph the points then flip it over the y axis. The numbers are going to be the same but some of the signs will change.

OpenStudy (kalijah13):

I know that but my question is like there is an easier way to do it when you just look at what they are asking you and then change the sign. I would like to do that rather than graph it. (just so it is easier, plus I don't have graphing paper either)

OpenStudy (thatlilmathgirl12xd):

An easier way to do this is to look at each point (not on a graph) and write the inverse so for example (1,2) the reflection over the why axis would become (-1,2)

OpenStudy (thatlilmathgirl12xd):

then to check and make sure that it is correct you can plot it.

@kalijah13 Hope this helped.
