WILL MEDAL AND FAAAN. A stone with a mass of 50g is at the end of the string 1.5m long. If the stone is swinging with a velocity of 8m/s what force does the string exert on the stone?

OpenStudy (egenriether):

Centripetal (radial) acceleration: \[a_{rad}=\frac{ v ^{2} }{ r }\] Newton's 2nd law of motion \[F=ma\] Thus radial force is: \[F_{rad}=\frac{ mv ^{2} }{ r}\] and \[F=\frac{ 0.05*8^{2} }{ 1.5 }=2.13N\]

OpenStudy (niyex):

@egenriether great job but encourage learning. help with the formular then let the questionaire do the rest his/her self. that is the good way to learn. if there is any problem he/she will ask for clarity. But kudos to you guys, you guys are awesome.
