Multiply the hours of labor by $50, then add $35. If C=cost in dollars and h=hours of labor,which equation expresses the rule above? A.) C(h)=50(h+35) B.) C(h)=35(h+50) c.) C(h)=35h+50 d.) C(h)=50h+35

OpenStudy (xmissalycatx):

Hi there! First of all I would like to ask what you think it is and why?

OpenStudy (xmissalycatx):

It say MULTIPLY the (HOURS) of labor by ($50) then ADD $35 So 50 (h) and + 35

OpenStudy (kat_s123):

So if you're directly multiplying h by something, you can use some deductive reasoning here, and get rid of any of the options that don't have h being multiplied by 50. So, c, you can get rid of because you know that you're not multiplying h by 35. You can get rid of a and b because neither of those have h being directly multiplied by something. So the last option is d. So you're multiplying the hours (h) by 50$. So 50h and then adding 35$. So 50h + 35.
