As you read Act 3 and Act 4 of The Taming of the Shrew, notice events which take place to help develop the plot. Identify which part of the plot is being developed (exposition, rising action, climax, falling action, or resolution), include the Act and Scene numbers along with the text, and write an explanation/analysis of what is taking place. You may also include events from Act 1 or Act 2. An example has been provided for you. @savannah_noelle

OpenStudy (savannah_noelle):

Did you read it?

OpenStudy (savannah_noelle):

Because I can't do all of the work for you.

OpenStudy (latinaas):

I read it I just don't know what I am putting together. it comes with a organizer and an example @ savannah_noelle

OpenStudy (savannah_noelle):

I can't really do this for you because I haven't read Taming of the Shrew in like 3 years lol. However, I can tell you what the things you're searching for within the story mean. Exposition: Basically, this is background information about events, characters, settings, etc. This gives you a better general understanding of what you're reading. For example, if I said "We jumped from the plane." It would be kind of weird right? But what if I told you the background information and instead said: "John and I were going skydiving and we jumped from the plane." You need that background information for what I'm saying to make actual sense. Rising Action in a plot is a series of relevant incidents that create suspense, interest and tension in a narrative. In literary works, a rising action includes all decisions, characters' flaws and background circumstances that together create turns and twists leading to a climax. For example, in the movie finding nemo (hopefully you've seen this movie) Some relevant incidents that occurred to create suspense would be Marlin (nemo's dad) meeting dory, battling sharks, facing tons of jellyfish and getting swallowed by a whale. Because in each of these events suspense is created because we don't know if Marlin will make it through these incidents. His decisions ultimately resulted in him finding nemo but we also see his flaws. For example remember how he was afraid to let nemo attend school? This was an irrational fear he had because he was afraid to lose nemo. One of his flaws was he's afraid of everything. The climax would be when Nemo is pretending to be dead when he is actually alive. Climax: The highest or most intense point in the development or resolution of something (I gave an example of this in the last paragraph) Falling action:Is defined as the parts of a story after the climax and before the very end. After the climax in finding nemo, Marlin leaves Dory behind because he is sad and thinks Nemo is dead. This is the falling action in that movie. Lastly, the resolution in this movie would be Dory finding nemo and helping nemo find his dad in the end.

OpenStudy (savannah_noelle):

I said all of that to give you a better understanding of what you should look for in the Taming of the Shrew. You should read it over again carefully and look for exposition (backgroynd evidence) rising action (incidents that create suspense), climax(the most intense or resolution of something) , falling action(events that occur after the climax but before the end), or resolution(how they solve the problem)

OpenStudy (latinaas):

Thank you so much for your time I really do appreciate it. @Savannah_Noelle

OpenStudy (savannah_noelle):

OpenStudy (latinaas):
