OpenStudy (bookworm14):

Is the underlined phrase an adjective phrase or an adverb phrase? The sky was eerily dark before the storm. A. adjective phrase B. adverb phrase Before the storm is describing eerily dark (I think) would that be adjective because it is telling when it was eerily dark? or would it be adjective?

OpenStudy (bookworm14):

@jim_thompson5910 @AravindG could yall please look at thius? I am trying to help my younger bother, and my brain is stuck lol thank you!

OpenStudy (bookworm14):

i meant i thought it was adverb because it was tellling when (but i could be completely wrong)

OpenStudy (aravindg):

What do you think eerily is?

OpenStudy (bookworm14):

eerily is an adjective because it describes the dark but i am confused because it is saying "before the storm" and that describes eerily dark ....WHEN was it eerily dark? before the storm which would make it adverb phrase BUT "before the storm" describes eerily dark, which is an adjective so would that make it adjective phrase?

OpenStudy (aravindg):

Honestly its been years since I attempted questions like these. But I think eerily is an adjective and before the dark is adverb.

OpenStudy (bookworm14):

ok weer gonna say adverb lol let oyu know how it goes

OpenStudy (aravindg):

Yeah you should. Before the dark is called 'adverb phrase'. That's what I believe.

OpenStudy (bookworm14):

we got it right lol! woo!

OpenStudy (aravindg):

Yey!!!! XD Cheers!
