A triangle is graphed in the coordinate plane. The vertices of the triangle have coordinates (–3, 1), (1, 1), and (1, –2). What is the perimeter of the triangle? A. 6 B. 7 C. 12 D. 14

@Mehek14

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

Count the number of units to go from (-3, 1) to (1, 1). This is fairly simple to do because the y-coordinate is the same, but the x-coordinate is different. But to find the units in between the points, you would just need to subtract the x-coordinates: 1 - (-3)

OpenStudy (johnnewman):

i will be + right

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

If you mean to say that the unit count will be positive, then yes.

OpenStudy (johnnewman):

ok now what

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

Did you evaluate 1 - (-3) ?

OpenStudy (johnnewman):

-(-3) is +
