OpenStudy (emily61499):

how can we know that God hates lesbians? the OT no longer applies and NT verses only talk about homosexual men

OpenStudy (tanner23456):

Well, first off, God doesn't "hate" anyone. He hates sin for sure because it distances us from him, but never one of His children. He may be disappointed that we would choose to sin, but only because He wants us to repent and return to Him. Onto the next subject, "the OT no longer applies." This statement is completely false. The law of Moses was FULFILLED when Jesus Christ presented the higher law not completely destroyed. Though some specific practices were done away with, the doctrine remained fully in tact. Including that pertaining to the law of Chastity. The old testament still teaches true doctrine. Lastly, often when it says men in the scriptures, it is referring to mankind. Seldom will Heavenly Father present a commandment pertaining to a certain gender.

OpenStudy (aveline):

@tanner23456 So do the laws of Leviticus still apply?

OpenStudy (tanner23456):

It depends what you imply by the laws of leviticus. Certainly the book of Leviticus contains parts of the structure of the gospel of Christ that will never change, but there are certain practices that were no longer required after the law of Moses was fulfilled when the Savior came. For example, we are no longer required to perform animal sacrifices.

OpenStudy (jumperman):

Actually, I'd challenge your beliefs that the Old Testament does not apply. First off, if you take the side that Christ did away with the Torah, (Law of Moses), after dying on the cross, you would then have to reconcile why Peter was still following the Torah. In Peter's vision, God brought forth unclean animals to him and told him to kill and eat. Peter says no, interestingly enough, because the commandments state that he cannot eat unclean food. Now, this passage in Acts does NOT allow us to eat unclean food, because the meaning of the vision was the relationship between Israel and the Gentiles. Jews were not allowed to enter the house of a Gentile. God was eradicating this fact. Also, Paul mentions that people would still follow the Sabbath day, (Saturday) and there is evidence of people celebrating the Sabbath, and Old Testament feasts after the cross. Jesus is the Word, and Jesus is God, and God is the Word. How can Jesus do away with Himself? That's nonsense. Romans 2 actually addresses the issues of homosexuality between men and women, and interestingly enough, it is after the cross. God doesn't hate anyone. God doesn't say hate in the Bible at all. The closest word He uses is abominates. If you want a full list of where to find these passages, let me know. Right now I am on a time crunch. Thank you.

God loves us all, there is no proof that he hates anybody cause it doesnt exist. However according to scripture it is a sin. But we sin daily, yet we are still loved by him.

OpenStudy (mazmaz1):

Because of the story of the People of Lot... the sodomites.... and if God said he hates them in the OT why would he suddenly change his mind?

OpenStudy (sainath):

There is no God. There is no proof he exists.

OpenStudy (tanner23456):

@Sainath show me the proof that God does not exist. Also, your comment is not pertinent to the discussion.

Why are we all suddenly commenting on this post? OP asked it 2 months ago...
