WILL GIVE BEST ANSWER AND FAN A jar contains 3 pink balls, 6 blue balls, and 3 red balls. Event A = drawing a red ball on the first draw Event B = drawing a pink ball on the second draw If two balls are drawn from the jar, one after the other without replacement, what is P(A and B) expressed in simplest form?

OpenStudy (werewolves15):

What do you think the answer is?

OpenStudy (sadpsychedelickid):

I know that it's started at 5/12 and then goes to 4/11. It gets confusing from there.

OpenStudy (werewolves15):

It would start with 3/12 for red which we can then reduce to simplest form which would be 1/4. Then for pink it would be 3/11. You would then multiply 1/4*3/11=3/44. This is the answer in simplest form.
