OpenStudy (amtran_bus):

36 is x% more than 24. What is x?

OpenStudy (amtran_bus):

I realize I can say 36-24 is 12 and 12 is 50% of 24. But I don't see how you can re word the original to say that.

OpenStudy (mjdennis):

OK, yeah, this messes with lots of people. Wait one sec.

OpenStudy (mjdennis):

'x% more' means '100 + x'% For example, 18 is 50% MORE THAN 12, because 18 = 12 + (50% of 12) So turn your problem around: 24 + (x% of 24) = 36 Does that help?

OpenStudy (amtran_bus):

Perfect. I really appreciate it. That's the missing link I need.
