y=(x)^2 turned into y=(x+14)^2 So we see that x was replaced with x+14. I wonder what this actually does to the function though, hmm... Maybe we look at special place, where the stuff inside the brackets is 0. y=(0)^2 So that means our stuff inside, x+14=0. Subtracting 14 from each side, x=-14. So for the original function, y=(x)^2, x=0 gives us the 0 for y. But for the altered function, y=(x+14)^2, x=-14 gives u the 0 for y. We moved the entire function 14 units to the left, negative direction.
