OpenStudy (izayel):

Imagine pollution increasing in the atmosphere over thousands of years. Predict how the surface of the earth might change

OpenStudy (melzie):

This all has to do with how you view it. Think about how bad pollution is right now and what has changed just over the last few decades, now enhance that by ten times. What does that look like to you? And why?

OpenStudy (legomyego180):

Increased Acid Rain would be a large effect. As pollution increased volatiles in the air react with water and create acidic rains which causes all kinds of damage. Hm. Increased runoff of pollution would also be a factor I suppose, and you'd have to consider all of those pollutants in the air would get mixed in with the rain and eventually mixed into our aquifers and drinking water. The long term effect over thousands of years would be disastrous, the ozone layer would be depleted, the earth would become uninhabitable, crops wouldnt grow, rain wouldnt fall, massive flooding of coastal cities would occur, etc.

@legomyego180 there is a Code of Conduct. It states that you shouldn't just answer questions, you need to help them.

OpenStudy (legomyego180):

Im not sure how else to answer this @Melzie. The way you learn about this sort of thing is by reading exactly what I wrote and thinking about it. Im not trying to help him cheat but help him / her understand the concept by explaining why.
