How would I name this amide? My confusion comes from the cyclo hexane group coming off of the nitrogen.

I think this is N,N-____methylbutanamide where the blank is the cyclo hexane group (unless it doesn't fit alphabetically). Is it simply cyclohexyl? that doesn't sound right to me.
Cyclohexyl is the right name for a cyclohexane substituent, kind of awkward to have such a huge substituent on a molecule, but it's just how it goes cause of its placement on the amide. I think the N,N- is used if the group is the same, like N,N-diethylamide, but I could be wrong about that. I could find no examples online of naming a tertiary amide where both of the substituents were different alkyl groups. I'll go ahead and offer a few likely possibilities: N,N-cyclohexylmethylbutanamide N-cyclohexyl-N-methylbutanamide The only reason I suggest the last one is cause I was looking around for molecules of similar names and found this. http://www.chemsink.com/compound/670174/ But you never know with some of these sites if it's IUPAC or not.
