Which words in the sentence make up the adjective phrase? The cricket beneath my window is singing its evening song. A. beneath my window B. is singing C. The cricket D. its evening song
@Jadeishere
@desmarie
I think the answer would be a because it describes the cricket and cricket is the noun
@Jadeishere
Um, it describes where the cricket is. An adjective phrase is something that directly describes the noun. B is actually a prepositional phrase
and c is the noun ....
so answer?
The subject may actually be the subject, so "its evening song" may be the answer. :) Ahhh
I think this is a very weird sentence to ask for an adjective phrase because there almost isn't one
but d describes the verb....not the noun
it would be d if they were asking for an adverb phrase
That's true, I honestly am not sure. I dislike adjectives.. Lol
lol me either
just try a....
ok :P
@TheSmartOne @sammixboo @.Sam.
That is true, the evening song is also a thing, and Idea so this sentence challenges it. Remember, it doesn't have to just describe the cricket itself as in color, size or shape, as long as it describes something about the cricket its fine, I would try to make up arguments for why they cannot be used and pick the one with the least arguments.
I suggest A as well, but it's weird
I would have to agree with A as well, the song is an Idea, cricket is a thing, and singing is a verb
mhmm, I don't know if above is an adjective http://english.stackexchange.com/questions/112887/can-above-be-used-as-an-adjective D looks more lof an adjective because of evening
