I will give you a shiny shiny medal :) please help c: Which allows the researcher to claim causation between an explanatory variable and a response variable? An observational study or designed experiment... allows the researcher to claim causation between an explanatory variable and a response variable

OpenStudy (liziekay):

it's math lol, google it?

OpenStudy (liziekay):

but i think it's a designed experiment measures the value of the response variable without attempting to influence the value of either the response or explanatory variables. that is, an observational study, the researcher observes the behavior of the individuals in the study without trying to influence the outcome of the study. - there are three major categories of observational studies: cross-sectional studies, case-control studies and cohort studies. -observational studies do not allow a researcher to claim causation, only association.

OpenStudy (lacris):

Hmm so it would be because in a designed experiment, the person alters someone to prove something with a 'causation?' Rather than an observational experiment that overlooks one thing and that's the outcome? right?

OpenStudy (liziekay):

yes, exactly! you got it!

OpenStudy (lacris):

Thank you so much! :D

OpenStudy (liziekay):

no problemo!
