im having a hard time cn somoene help me?!??! Focus Question Should the courts treat minors the same as adults when they are accused of serious crimes? heres what i have so far An estimated 7,100 juvenile defendants were charged with felonies in adult criminal court in 1998.In criminal courts in these 40 counties, juveniles (64%) were more likely than adults (24%) to be charged with a violent felony. These juvenile defendants were generally treated as serious offenders, as 52% did not receive pretrial release, 63% were convicted of a felony, and 43% of those convicted received a prison sentence. That is a lot of minors being tried as adults, is it right or wrong? Minors do not have the same mind capacity as adults do, they are not able to make life changing decision at the age of 13; maybe when they did this crime they were doing it because of peer pressure, their family was in danger, or because they were forced to. There are certain criteria that needs to be met in order to try a minor as an adult, the most important being mental state. The mind of a minor is always changing; you can have two different views on something within days. No one can be in the mind of that minor during the time of a crime, or ever for that matter. If the minor has a mental disorder it is much harder to read the minor, as argued in case one.
That seems amazing! I think that's good right there, how much do you have to write? Cause i can help out a little more if you need to write more.
Try to take a third opinion or reach a middle round. What if the child murdered one of their family members, and that family member was innocent. Should we excuse their behavior just because of their age, no matter how horrendous the crime? I don`t think so. Usually age is only used as an excuse for something bad.
@kitten-dude i will help you write if you want
