How did pontiac's rebellion support the british argument for the proclamation of 1763?

OpenStudy (mahoganie.carson):

Is this a multiple choice question ?

OpenStudy (madangerzone):

There should be.

OpenStudy (wwhitlock):

The Proc of 1763 came after the 7 years war in Europe. France and Spain and England and others were fighting in Europe. It spilled over into North America and we call our little part the French and Indian War. The French got kicked out of Canada and east of the Mississippi River after the war. The whole thing was very costly for Britain. So they drew a line and told colonists not to settle on the other side. They didn't want to pay for anymore wars with the Indians or whoever. Just stay in the colonies and be good colonists. But no. You know, Americans. Anyway, Pontiac was upset about colonists coming into his lands. He'd been promised they would stay away, and they didn't. So the king's line didn't work. And the exact thing he tried to prevent from happening, happened.
