OpenStudy (quz34):

What is the range of the following function? Graph: http://prntscr.com/cjhq0j a. y < -4 b. y ≥ -4 c. y ≤ -4 d. y > -4

OpenStudy (quz34):

@welshfella

OpenStudy (jiteshmeghwal9):

From the graph it's clear that the y coordinate is ranging from \((-4,\infty)\)

OpenStudy (will.h):

range is the y values that the function can have in it's coordinates you may notice that the vertex is at (1,-4) does the function have y values below -4? no so therefor the range would be \[y \ge -4\] why bigger than or equal to? we picked that because it can be -4 and all values above -4

OpenStudy (jiteshmeghwal9):

This implies that the range is \((-4,\infty)\)

OpenStudy (will.h):

but just give them some explanations lol they need it more

OpenStudy (quz34):

lol thanks guys.

OpenStudy (welshfella):

[-4,+infinity) in interval notation.

OpenStudy (welshfella):

- square parentheses because it includes -4

OpenStudy (will.h):

well ending welsh :)

OpenStudy (welshfella):

jites answer was not correct.

OpenStudy (welshfella):

ty

OpenStudy (welshfella):

lol

OpenStudy (jiteshmeghwal9):

Oh yeah I forgot to include-4,in interval

OpenStudy (quz34):

wait my answer is \[y \ge - 4\] right?

OpenStudy (will.h):

yes
