One hint: If the numerator (which is the top number) is greater than the denominator (bottom number) than it will be an expansion.

Dont think you need to change to decimals...if the fraction has a bigger denominator than the numerator than it is a contraction but if it has a smaller denominator than the numerator than it is an expansion...
But if it were to be done with decimals...then if it had a number after the decimal point then it would be an expansion if it does not have any numbers in front of the decimal point then it would be a contraction...

Like lets look at `2.75` we see that there is a 2 in front of the decimal point so it is a expansion....
Now the next one `0.75` we see that it has a zero in front of the decimal point this would mean that the value is below 1 so it would be a contraction....
