A solution of CO2, carbonated water, typically contains 7.22 g of CO2 (molar mass should be memorized) in 1.00 liter of solution. (b) What amount of carbon dioxide would be found in 67.0 milliliters of this carbonated water? Thought I knew the answer but it was wrong. Can someone walk me through this?
@aaronq can help you! He's online now!
"what amount" is kinda vague, do you happen to know what units do they want this "amount" in?
7.22 gm of CO2 => 7.22/44 moles =0.16409 moles 1 liter or 1000 ml solution contains 0.16409 moles of CO2 1 ml solution contains \(0.16409 * 10^{-3}\) moles of CO2 67 ml of this solution will contain \(0.16409*67*10^{-3}\) moles of CO2
When they say "what amount" they mean moles. Sorry, that's something they established the first week. @aaronq Thanks @jitesmeghwal9 I'll try that later, I have swim class this morning.
Yes, it worked @jiteshmeghwal9! I was off by mol/mmol, is all. Thank you!
