OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

Describe the place where you live in two ways: Relative Location— Absolute Location—

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

@hihi

OpenStudy (hihi):

Absolute Location describes an object's location, relative to Earth. Latitude and longitude coordinates are an example of Absolute Location. Relative location is more general and can be used relative to the surroundings of the object (this is the definition from Google).

OpenStudy (sooobored):

absolute location maybe using the global coordinate system in order to determine your location, i.e. longitude and latitude whose reference points are greenwich and the equator relative location might be something like, 5 miles from your local grocery store or new york

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

but can you describe lets say where i live in those two ways.. miami

OpenStudy (sooobored):

25.7617° N, 80.1918° W

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

whats that?

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

in words though please

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

i live in miami fl..

OpenStudy (sooobored):

relative distance would be like 210 miles away from disney world

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

ok but not that farrr away lol

OpenStudy (sooobored):

i checked the distance from miami to disney world, its roughly a 230 mi drive

OpenStudy (sooobored):

the location of miami based on the geographic coordinate system is latitude 25.7617° N, longitude 80.1918° W

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

ok but if you had to describe miami fl.. in relative what would u say?

OpenStudy (sooobored):

its about 250 miles away from disney land

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

you mean disney world? lol

OpenStudy (sooobored):

same thing

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

ok and absolute?

OpenStudy (sooobored):

or 7770 mi away from beijing

OpenStudy (sooobored):

absolute - 25.7617° N, 80.1918° W

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

butin words

OpenStudy (sooobored):

but i already wrote it in words

OpenStudy (sooobored):

see above

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

but not in degrees

OpenStudy (sooobored):

absolute position requires it to be in degrees if based off the geographic coordinate system

OpenStudy (sooobored):

you're asking for absolute location not absolute distance
