If I may help?

OpenStudy (mathngn):

plz!

OpenStudy (3mar):

Thanks.

OpenStudy (3mar):

As the rest of the number we want to convert (0.132132132) is less than 1, therefore we seek for a fraction that is also less than 1, which is not A nor D ok?

OpenStudy (mathngn):

ok

OpenStudy (3mar):

then we examine B and C Are you allowed to use calculator?

OpenStudy (mathngn):

sadly I cant mines not working and its very laggy online

OpenStudy (3mar):

allowed or you can't as the cal is not working?

OpenStudy (mathngn):

not allowed and not working

OpenStudy (3mar):

Oh I see now

OpenStudy (3mar):

@563blackghost If you could help, I would be grateful!

563blackghost (563blackghost):

We see that the number `132` repeats in the decimal so lets slide the decimal point to the right 3 times which would make it `8132.132..`Now we have `8132.132 and `8.132132..` Now we need to simplify in order to do this we would label `8.132... as x` in which would have to multiply by 1000 (due to 8.132` to equal `8132.132....` so we have the equation... \(\huge\bf{1000x=8132.132132}\) Now `x = 8.132132`. So we have.... \(\huge\bf{1000x=8132.13}\) `\(\huge\bf{-x = 8.132132}\) Which equals... \(\huge\bf{999x = 8124}\) Now divide. \(\huge\bf{x= \frac{8124}{999}}\) This is your answer :)

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Wait we need to change the improper fraction into a mixed number so we know that the whole number is 8 but we need to fractional part of it so we see that if we divide the decimal we of course get `.132132` so that would mean `132` is our remainder so the mixed number is... \(\huge\bf{8 \frac{132}{999}}\)

563blackghost (563blackghost):

I believe that answers it :)

OpenStudy (mathngn):

thank you! I did not realize it involved improper fractions so I think I got it!

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Oh your welcome ;)

OpenStudy (3mar):

I don't know how to thank you. How grateful am I to you! Allah blesses you, @563blackghost

OpenStudy (3mar):

@563blackghost Please can you clarify how to convert into mixed fraction form improper fraction?

563blackghost (563blackghost):

How to convert mixed form to improper form? @3mar And thank you :)

OpenStudy (3mar):

How to convert improper form to mixed form! Thanks in advance.

563blackghost (563blackghost):

It entirely depends upon the fraction, let's use \(\Large\bf{\frac{8764}{3}}\) as an example. We first need to identify on how the decimal is so we would entirely divide the fraction to find the decimal. \(\huge\bf{\frac{8764}{3} = 2921.33333}\) We see that we have `.33333` so with knowledge of familar decimals and fractions we know that `.33333 = 1/3` so the fraction is `1/3`. We are alreadt given that `2921` is the whole number so we now can set this up. \(\huge\bf{2921 \frac{1}{3}}\)
