OpenStudy (are3):

how do trees help in reducing soil erosion

OpenStudy (jinx44):

I guess their roots grip into the soil so soil does not fall away? I am a little rusty at erosion so I am terribly sorry if I am wrong, u may need to use google.

OpenStudy (blazeryder):

No, you are right @Jinx44 Tree roots kind of act like concrete and make the soil more stable so there would be less of a chance for a mudslide to occur.

OpenStudy (jinx44):

alright, thanks @BlazeRyder

OpenStudy (blazeryder):

NP =)

OpenStudy (osprey):

also trees' roots spread far, wide and deep. Older tree, deeper root, maybe. more soil protection.
