I am not understanding how to write and balance stuff as a net ionic equation. Can someone help me with this one? HCl(aq)+Ca(OH)2(aq) --->??? I know the answer is H^+(aq)+OH^-(aq)--->H2O But I'm not sure why the Cl and Ca are gone.

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

CaCl2 is aqueous so it gets crossed out when you write the full ionic equation

Thanks :)
