Help!!! ill fan and medal and write a testimony!!! Compare the way the epic poem Beowulf and the novel Grendel portray the ideas of good and evil. What are the differences between how good and evil are portrayed? What are the similarities? How might Anglo-Saxon epic conventions and existentialism relate to good and evil in these works?

So what is the biggest difference between Beowulf and Grendel?

OpenStudy (tylermckinney16):

Ones a hero and ones bad.

Hayhayz (hayhayz):

Ones a hero and ones a monster. Beowulf did not worry about safety or difficulty. Beowulf did not need to use weapons against the monster, The hero knows what they are doing because everything they do is right and no one can criticize them, the hero has self confidence. The monster (grendel) was hateful and jealous of everyone having a good time and laughing. He had eyes they glow like fire which makes people fearful of him while the hero was seen as brave and not fearful. I dont know how much this will help you but its just some things i remember from reading this a few months ago

Hayhayz (hayhayz):

something similar was that they were both confident. The monster didnt think anyone could defeat him and the hero was confident he didnt need weapons to defeat him
