a:If you know the lengths of the two legs of a right triangle, use the PYthagorean theorem to get the length of the hypotenuse (side opposite the right angle). That's √(14² + 9²) = √(196 + 81) = √277 = about 16.64 ft on b you are given the hypotenuse and one leg so you use the same theorem, just with subtract instead of add: √(18² - 14² ) = √(324 - 196) = √128 or about 11.31 ft Hope i helped!!!
