Express answer in exact form. Show all work for full credit. A segment of a circle has a 120 arc and a chord of 8sqrt3 in. Find the area of the segment. My answer- To solve this we will use s=0/360 2πr where r is the radius, 0 is the angle and s is the arc length. Using the first formula: 8√3= 120/360 x 2 x πr 24√3= 2πr Therefore r= 12√3/π Using the second formula: Area of the segment= 1/2 (π0/180 - sin 0) x r² Now plug in the values of variables: =1/2 (3.14/120/180 - sin 120) x (12√3/π)² =1/2 (1.2273) x 43.8152 = 26.8874 square in. My teachers feedback- your formulas don't make a lot of sense find the sector, the area of the triangle and the Area of Segment formulas
