Vocaloid:

try factoring each function as much as possible then see which function has a term that can be crossed out for example: if your factored form ends up like f(x) = (A*B)/(A) you can cancel out the A and get B, producing a function with a removable discontinuity hope that makes sense

zarkam21:

so c?

Vocaloid:

when you factor 5x/(1-x^2) is there anything that can be cancelled out between the numerator/denominator?

zarkam21:

no not really

zarkam21:

A?

zarkam21:

I'm confused>

Vocaloid:

when you factor A you get x/(x-2)(x+1) ^ is there anything that can be cancelled out between the numerator/denominator?

zarkam21:

x?

Vocaloid:

notice how x is only in the numerator the (x-2) and (x-1) cannot be cancelled out

Vocaloid:

try factoring D and see what you get

Vocaloid:

good, and do you see anything that can be cancelled out?

zarkam21:

x+1

Vocaloid:

awesome, so (x+1) can be cancelled out, leaving a removable discontinuity at x = -1 so D is the answer
