IR Question: this compound has sp3 CH bonds, shouldn't I be seeing frequencies in the ~3000 range or am I mis-understanding something

You have to keep in mind that the stronger a dipole is, the more intense the IR band will be. Also, I'm sure the bands do appear, they're just not very strong. Also the sp3 CH bonds would be insignificant. They wouldn't really help you in identifiying the molecule. H NMR would be better and more useful to figure out a product based on the hydrogens than relying on seing the C-H bond. I'd say it doesn't have much of a peak is because it's dipole moment is probably small especially being on an aromatic ring.
