old question but will respond so this can be closed right off the bat, your equation cannot be right because the slope is wrong. if it's parallel to y = x + 11, then it must have the same slope as y = x + 11. remember that the general slope intercept form is y = mx + b, so the slope of y = x + 11 is 1 (x = 1x) from there: treat your point (–6, 2) as your (x,y). plug m, x, and y into y = mx + b to solve for b then re-write y = mx + b by filling in your m and b values from before.
