Why did many American colonists support the writing of the Declaration of Independence? because they wanted to collect taxes to spend on their own plans because the British king ignored their concerns and complaints because they expected the British king would accept their demands because the need for military supplies and soldiers was decreasing
I picked the second one.
I think the second one is right but I'm not 100% sure.
ok you can get rid of options A and D because these were not actions the colonists were doing, these were things being done to them by the king (taxation without representation) so then with options B and C, it's pretty easy. The Declaration was like a "break up" between the colonists and the king. They were writing to show the ways in which the King had abused his powers which then led to them wanting to break apart. There was no repairing the relationship with the king and they were not looking to have any connection to the King anymore. so in this case, yes, you're correct, it's B.
Oh thats a great explanation, thank you. I just wanted to make sure if i was right
