G(-2, 4), H(3, 6), and J(3, -2) is dilated by a factor of 1/3 centered at the origin. What are the coordinates of G' after the dilation?

jigglypuff314:

Hi @Samuelthebest ! A dilation centered at the origin means that you would multiply every coordinate by the scale factor. so every number for G at (-2, 4) gets multiplied by 1/3 -2 times 1/3 = -2/3 and 4 times 1/3 = 4/3 so the new coordinate for G' is (-2/3 , 4/3) Then you would do the same thing for the other two coordinates. Let me know if you are still stuck on those or if you need someone to check you answers :)

Thankyou :)
