jimthompson5910:

hint: Shaded Area = (area of square) - (area of circle) area of square = (side)*(side) area of circle = pi*r^2 r = radius

Gucchi:

I know all that

Gucchi:

I think its the first answer

jimthompson5910:

Oh my bad, I misread the problem. Your teacher just wants to know the area of the circle since that portion is cut out of the larger square cloth. area = pi*r^2 = 3.14*18^2 = ??

jimthompson5910:

Yes you are correct since 3.14*18^2 = 1,017.36

Gucchi:

Thank you so much!

jimthompson5910:

no problem
