I know you can do it! What's the first think you're going to do?

Maxine:

I have no idea because i missed that lesson...

AZ:

No worries! It's very similar to your previous question. We need to bring the `k` to one side. And we take the numbers (that don't have a k) to the other side of the equal sign.

AZ:

4 + 3k = 6 + 4k What happens if you subtract 6 on both sides?

Maxine:

from 4?

AZ:

yes

Maxine:

-2 right?

AZ:

Good job! So this is what we did so far 4 + 3k = 6 + 4k 4 + 3k - 6 = 6 + 4k - 6 4 - 6 + 3k = 6 - 6 + 4k -2 + 3k = 4k So now we have -2 + 3k = 4k We want to bring 3k to the other side. Do we have to add or subtract 3k on both sides?

Maxine:

subtract?

AZ:

You got it! What do you get then?

Maxine:

-2=k

AZ:

And there you have it!

Maxine:

I act like i know it but its kind of hard for me to figure out on my own.

AZ:

Practice makes perfect :)
