Which of the following conclusions can be supported by the information in this chart? Picture Will Be Attached! Participation in elections increases as education level increases across all age groups. Education level was a significant factor in the outcome of the 2008 election. Decreasing the drop-out rate among high school students will positively affect voting rates. Increasing access to higher education will decrease citizens' participation in government.
I think the answer is C?
Those are the answer choices?
Focus on any column of data. What do you notice as you read down the column?
Voting rates?
What about them specifically?
I'm kind of confused.
As you move down any single column, are the values increasing? decreasing? or neither?
Decreasing?
Wait
no
Increasing
Increasing, yes So as the education level goes up, so does voting participation. This applies to any age group. It doesn't necessarily indicate which party/candidate is favored the most (if any is at all), so it doesn't affect any outcome of an election. That will depend on other factors.
That makes sense. I pick D
I'll*
As the education level goes up, so does voting participation
Ohhhh, its A
yes
Thank you.
Sure thing
Can you answer a few more questions?
sure
Which of the following statements can be supported by the information in this chart?
I'll add pic
its the same pic
The voting rate of individuals 18 to 24 years of age increases as the level of education increases. The voting rate of high school graduates is only slightly better than that of high-school drop-outs. The voting rate of individuals levels out once a college degree is attained regardless of age. The voting rate is only slightly influenced by a person's level of education.
I think it is the first one, A
yeah its basically saying the same thing as before
Except now they're just focusing on the first column
Yeah.
So i picked A for that
My next question is
The two maps below show the results of the 2010 Gubernatorial Election between Rick Scott (R) and Alex Sink (D), and the 2008 Presidential Election between Barack Obama (D) and John McCain (R). Which of the following statements can you prove to be true using this map? I will attach pics The geographical distribution of party votes is similar in both elections. The majority of Republican voters can be found in Central Florida. The Democrats won the popular vote in both elections. The number of registered Republicans in Florida increased between 2008 and 2010.
I think it is A?
Am I right with that?
Your teacher made a typo. It should be 2008 presidential election, not 2010 presidential election. But based on those charts, it looks like the same party demographics are in the same locations (eg: Tampa is blue, Jacksonville is red)
Yh, thank you.
no problem
I have a few more.
Which statement best describes the message and the creator of this poster from the presidential election of 1952? Image will be attached. Candidate Stevenson created the poster to let America know that he has new and unique ideas for improving the country. The Democratic Party created the poster, which implies that Democrats are wealthier than Republicans. A government agency wants to show support for Stevenson by saying he will focus on safety more than other candidates. An interest group representing labor feels that the election will be a choice between poverty and success for the country.
I think this is C. Am i right?
Incorrect. Look at what committee is backing him (it's given right underneath his name).
Labors committee?
yes, so that will direct you to the answer
D?
yes
Thank you once again.
no problem
A homeless man is accused of robbing a convenience store. Which of the following should happen, and which cases(s) established this process? The man should be informed of his right to an attorney (in re Gault) and to confront his accuser in court (Miranda v. Arizona). The man should be informed of his rights (Miranda v. Arizona) and told his accuser's name (in re Gault). The man should be informed of his rights (Miranda v. Arizona) and provided an attorney (Gideon v. Wainwright). The man should receive official notice of charges (in re Gault) and be questioned with an attorney present (Miranda v. Arizona).
Is this C?
Brb i need to do something
I'm back.
C is correct. Miranda was arrested and wasn't read his rights, so that's what led to the Miranda Rights becoming an established saying that cops use: "You have a right to remain silent" etc etc. As mentioned earlier, the re Gault case dealt with juveniles being treated the same as adults in terms of getting legal protection and due process. So this wouldn't apply in this case, assuming the homeless man is an adult. So that means we can rule out choice B.
Thank you. That makes a lot of sense.
Examples of the freedom of assembly include a political leader holding a street rally; your friend drawing a “peace” sign a political leader holding a street rally; a local organization sponsoring a parade people signing a petition to repeal a law; a club sponsoring a parade people signing a petition to repeal a law; a business advertising a sale
I think this is B... Am i right?
Brb
Yes anything involving gathering a group of people. Though you might have to get permits if there are a lot of people. Permits are useful in helping local governments get a heads up when a large crowd is gathering so they can plan for it in some fashion. This could include diverting traffic, or helping with public infrastructure.
Thank you!
A voter believes that the country should have universal health care for all, including the poor and unemployed, although others believe that this would hurt business because taxes would rise. Which of the following is the best evidence that a Senate candidate's qualifications support this voter's concerns? The candidate has made statements that his opponent only supports the wealthy and big business. The candidate has voted for legislation that would make health care for the poor and middle class more accessible. The candidate donates to charities that fund food drives and shelters for the poor in his home state. The candidate has a medical degree and had his own practice before becoming a U.S. Representative.
Your thoughts?
I think it is B
Am I right?
Correct. Someone who voted for more accessible health care would probably be in favor of universal health coverage.
Thank you!
I have like three more questions
In a recent political ad, Senator Bob Smith stated, "My opponent, Joe Lye, is more interested in playing golf with special interest groups than voting on the issues. In fact, he was only present on 12 of 120 days during the last legislative session. Let's work together to eliminate this kind of waste from our government." Which of the following is it most important for voters to do in evaluating these statements? Check the facts about Smith's claims that Lye was absent. Eliminate Lye from consideration during the election. Ignore the information because the source is not trustworthy. Review Smith's own attendance during the legislative session.
Is this C? Am I right?
Whenever someone makes a claim, you should check the facts. It doesn't matter who the speaker is. Though usually if the person has a history of lying, then more fact checks are needed.
Ohhh, So A?
@jimthompson5910 Are you there?
Choice A is correct
Ok, thanks!
Two U.S. Senators are guests on a TV news interview program. One is introduced as “Senator Susan Hartford, Conservative Leader,” and the other is introduced as “Senator Howard Williams, focus of an ongoing corruption investigation.” These introductions indicate bias in favor of Senator Williams symbolism in favor of Senator WIlliams bias in favor of Senator Hartford symbolism in favor of Senator Hartford
I think this is C
Am I right with this?
Yes, Williams is being painted in a negative light. It doesn't matter if the allegations are true or not, it's a shady practice for the news program to do that.
Yeh, that makes sense.
Alright, last question.
Read the quotation below: “Terrorist attacks can shake the foundations of our biggest buildings, but they cannot touch the foundation of America. These acts shatter steel, but they cannot dent the steel of American resolve.”—Former President George W. Bush 2001 Which of the following is a true statement about the quote? President Bush uses propaganda to convince Americans to not have concerns about terrorism. President Bush uses symbolism to reassure Americans that terrorism cannot destroy their country. President Bush uses propaganda to convince Americans to take up weapons themselves to fight terrorism. President Bush uses symbolism to express sadness and sympathy for the victims of terrorism.
I think this is B
Yes. The former president made that speech to say that people are strong and can fight against the terrorism.
Yes, thats true.
Thank your for helping me with all my questions. You are a legend.
I'm glad I could help out
