Eli9lizzy:

In the final chapter of The Bell jar by Sylvia Plath, Esther steps into the board room where a panel of doctors and nurses will examine her for an "exit interview." They will decide if she's ready to rejoin the outside world, or if she must stay in treatment. Should Esther stay for more treatment or should she go?

BabydollBlake:

Can you tell me why she was in there for treatment?

\(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @BabydollBlake Can you tell me why she was in there for treatment? \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) I think its because Esther has a mental illness. But she gets better over the chapters.

mxddi3:

Hm, alright. So you say she gets better over the chapters, so when you are in the last chapter, do YOU think she has gotten better, and is ready to enter the real world? Or do you thing that she needs more treatment based on what you read? Look at how she started in the beginning versus how she is now at the end. What has changed? This should help you in determining which position you will take.
