Another problem

Carson15:

Carson15:

just need to know what formula i need to use

snowflake0531:

rise/run

Carson15:

would point slope form work?

snowflake0531:

i recommend doing this step by step what is the slope of this line

Carson15:

im not sure how to calculate to find that

snowflake0531:

okay, you calculate the slope in a graph by doing rise over run looking at the two coordinates that are circled how much does it rise, how much does it 'run'

snowflake0531:

It goes up 4, and goes to the right 2, so it's 4/2, so the slope is 2

Carson15:

oh ok, and how about the y-intercept?

snowflake0531:

so, we can plug the values of slope=2, and the coordinate point of (-4,1) into the equation y=mx+b can you do that m=2 (x,y)

snowflake0531:

\(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @Carson15 oh ok, and how about the y-intercept? \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) you are trying to find the y-intercept right now by doing ^^^^

Carson15:

I want to say it's A. but idk if I calculated correctly or not

snowflake0531:

no lol, how'd you calculate it actually i'll tell you first, plugging it in 1 = 2(-4) + b -8+ b=1 b=9 so, it is 2x+9

Carson15:

ohhhhh ok....i did that completely wrong lol. Thank you

snowflake0531:

loll, yw~
