Facilitated diffusion is a type of transport, while the sodium potassium pump is a type of transport. Even though they fall under different categories of cell transport, they both use a to help transport molecules across the cell membrane.

iuytyuioiuytyuiop:

passive transport

iuytyuioiuytyuiop:

@AZ

AZ:

and so what would the sodium potassium pump be an example of?

iuytyuioiuytyuiop:

active transport?

AZ:

Exactly! And what do they use to transport molecules across the cell membrane?

iuytyuioiuytyuiop:

im not sure

AZ:

are you given any answer choices?

iuytyuioiuytyuiop:

no im not

AZ:

okay so do you see what's allowing/helping the molecules to cross over in this example of facilitated diffusion?

iuytyuioiuytyuiop:

protein channel?

AZ:

that's one of the ones in facilitated diffusion but what's the other one? protein channels allow things to go down their concentration gradient but remember active transport allows things to go OPPOSITE the concentration gradient

iuytyuioiuytyuiop:

sorry i cant guess lol

AZ:

it's the other one listed in the image haha

iuytyuioiuytyuiop:

ion moement

iuytyuioiuytyuiop:

carrier protein?

AZ:
